Echoes
In the stillness where our laughter once flowed,
Echoes of love now feel heavy, corrode.
You wore your secrets like a thin, veiled disguise,
While trust unraveled beneath tangled lies.
Each moment we shared, now stained by the past,
A fragile illusion that couldn’t last.
Promises whispered in the softest of tones,
Now haunt my heart like a chorus of stones.
I grieve for the dreams that danced in my mind,
For the warmth of your touch, the love we defined.
But betrayal’s shadow looms large in my chest,
A wound too deep to allow for rest.
With every tear, I release the embrace,
Of what could have been, of a sacred space.
The laughter we cherished, now echoes with pain,
As I sift through the memories, searching for gain.
In the ashes of us, I’ll gather my strength,
To forge a new path, to go any length.
Though scars may remain, and the heart feels the sting,
In time, I’ll find solace in the songs I can sing.
So here’s to the journey, to healing the soul,
To rising from ruins and regaining control.
With each step I take, I reclaim who I am,
A heart that once shattered will rise, a new plan.
